MLB The Show 26's Draft programme gives Diamond Dynasty players a fresh way to reshape their squads, and the value starts with the 2026 Draft collection. This is not just another pile of prospect cards. The collection includes 96, 97, 98, and 99 overall items, so even players who are still building their teams can find useful upgrades. As you work through the set, the vouchers earned can be pushed into the Legends & Flashbacks Collection, which gives the whole programme a purpose beyond collecting cards. You'll also want to manage your resources carefully, especially if you're saving MLB 26 stubs for a key addition rather than spending them on every tempting pack.

Why the Draft Map Matters

The 2026 MLB Draft Map gives the content a more active feel. Instead of simply opening packs and checking duplicates, you can move through goals and pick up rewards along the way. The route includes items such as the Deluxe 2026 All-Star Pack, giving offline players a solid reason to keep playing. The Draft Player Choice Pack is another useful addition. It guarantees a Red Diamond player item, while rare variants give lucky players something genuinely exciting to chase. There's still an element of chance, of course, but the guaranteed reward stops the pack from feeling like a complete gamble.

Cholowsky Brings Pop at Shortstop

Roch Cholowsky is the card most lineups will be watching. His 99 overall Shortstop item has 102 Contact against right-handed pitching, 106 Contact against lefties, and 107 Clutch. That profile should play well in important at-bats, particularly when a ranked game gets tight late. He also carries 97 Power Right and 104 Power Left, so pitchers can't simply work around him. An 86 Fielding Ability rating keeps him dependable in the infield, while 65 Speed is enough to avoid making him a liability on the bases. He isn't built around one gimmick. He can hit, defend, and stay in the lineup every day.

Three Arms Worth Testing

Jackson Flora leads the pitching group with a 98 overall Starting Pitcher card. His 99 mph four-seam fastball sets up a 90 mph slider, and that speed gap can make poor swings happen quickly. The card also carries 108 H/9 against right-handed hitters and 101 against left-handed hitters, with K/9 ratings of 99 and 92 in the same matchups. Liam Peterson, at 97 overall, offers another strong option, while Tegan Kuhns arrives at 96 overall with a useful pitch mix and plenty of velocity. Try them in different modes before committing. A pitcher can look brilliant on paper and still feel awkward if his release does not suit you.

Building a Smarter Draft Squad

The best approach is to mix collection progress with actual roster needs. A team short on contact should look toward Cholowsky, while a rotation lacking strikeout potential may benefit more from Flora. Complete the map goals as you play, then use the packs to fill gaps rather than chasing every rare version. Patient players will get more from the programme, and those planning to buy MLB 26 stubs should have a target in mind before spending, whether that means finishing the collection or adding one impact player.
